Re-designing for better conversion rates
I’ve not been writing anything about what I do except for sending in pictures of my monitor while im hacking the web. Right now the affiliate business is set aside as I get alot offers from companies who wants to re-do and improve their websites.
But as the holidays are coming every soon I think its a perfect timing to re-design one of my primary affiliate websites, casinolovin.com which is one of the stronger of my sites, but the conversion on the site is pretty low and it only gets a few hits per day. And as it soon a new year I think its time to change that.
The plan is to make the site seem very wide with alot of space for articles and news to give it some authority but at the same time it needs to send a message, “hey click here to claim this bonus” which is one of the harder parts of the affiliate but I think i finally solved the mystery.
The new site will hopefully we launched this week, as the design is very easy to do and the most time will be spent by doing the Joomla! to Wordpress change. I need to structure the allready on site content to the new site, with the exact same URLs.
The new design will allow me to update reviews and my top list every easy and it will allow me to run campaigns outside the content area, which will make the website to change mood depending on how the ad looks, which is very good.
The toplists will be dynamic, I will only change the “ranking” of the casino and it will automaticly change on the entire website. The toplists will also change depending on which section of the site you’re at, which will give the user a more relevant match for what casino suits them best.
Hopefully the transition from Joomla! to Wordpress will make the site more attractive and at the same time higher the pagerank, as it isnt even ranked, even though its 1.5years old.
Google loves Wordpress and so do I. As I left my job as a affiliate manager for 5years in 3 different companies a friend told me that I should look in to Wordpress, so I did and I got hooked. After 1 hour of tweaking the system is very flexible and is more user friendly than Joomla is, which is one of the reasons I choose to change CMS. As I have a fulltime job as a freelance php-coder I feel that Joomla makes it alot trickier to keep the site up-to-date with all casino news and trying to keep the toplists very updated.
